We recommend exploring Mombasa by motorbike – but only if you are confident and experienced.

Even for experienced European drivers, traffic in Mombasa can be very challenging. Road behavior is often unpredictable, regardless of whether it’s boda-boda riders, matatu drivers, or private cars.

Overtaking from both sides, very small distances between vehicles, and even driving in oncoming traffic are common situations. In some cases, rules are simply ignored – even in the presence of police.

Driving here requires full attention, quick reactions, and a defensive mindset at all times.

Wir empfehlen, Mombasa mit dem Motorrad zu erkunden – jedoch nur für erfahrene und sichere Fahrer.

Selbst für europäische Fahrer ist der Straßenverkehr in Mombasa eine echte Herausforderung. Das Fahrverhalten ist oft unvorhersehbar, egal ob bei Boda-Boda-Fahrern, Matatus oder privaten Autos.

Überholen von links und rechts, extrem geringe Abstände zwischen den Fahrzeugen und sogar Fahren im Gegenverkehr sind keine Seltenheit. Verkehrsregeln werden häufig ignoriert – teilweise sogar in Anwesenheit der Polizei.

Hier ist höchste Aufmerksamkeit, schnelle Reaktion und defensives Fahren jederzeit erforderlich.
